To assist you in planning your visit, you will find information about venue accessibility on the websites of the theatres. We provide links to these sites on our venues page.
We differentiate between venues that are “accessible”, “non-accessible,” or “accessible with support”.
“Accessible with support” refers to wheelchair access that requires the help of the venue staff or a personal assistant. The accessibility of the venue is indicated by a symbol on our venues page. Most venues provide information on potential access limitations on their websites. Direct links to this information are also provided on our venues page.
All performances including subtitles or induction loop systems are marked accordingly in our schedule and on the company pages.
The company pages feature short texts in simple language. They describe the pieces in language that is easy to understand.
We indicate dance performances that might be of interest to people with cognitive disabilities with the label «HORA tip». The pieces will be selected by members of Zurich’s Theater HORA ensemble. Theater HORA is one of Switzerland’s most renowned independent dance, theatre, and performance groups. The project focuses on the work of the HORA ensemble that consists entirely of actors with a medically certified cognitive disability.
For Steps 2026, Theater HORA recommends to visit the following dance performances: «Beyond» by Circumstances, «Le Grand Bal» by Compagnie Dyptik, «Dances Like a Bomb» by Junk Ensemble, «Play Dead» by People Watching, and «Timeless Encounters» by Skånes Dansteater / Lloydscompany.
Steps offers an accompanied visit for people with cognitive impairments to the performance of «Beyond» by Circumstances on March 8 at Tanzhaus Zürich. A PDF with further information will follow shortly.
We indicate potentially disturbing content on the company pages. We also provide information on special sound and lighting effects that could cause physical or psychological stress.
