Time for a world premiere! In 2026, Hofesh Shechter will bring his junior company to Switzerland. Together, we will celebrate the world premiere of his latest creation, «IN THE BRAIN», as part of Steps, before it can be seen all over the country. The starting point of the choreography is a 15-minute piece that Shechter created for the Martha Graham Company in 2022. Together with his young ensemble, the exceptional London-based artist has developed a full-length play from this.
Hofesh Shechter is known for the intensity and dynamics of his characteristic ensemble work. These outstanding qualities can also be seen and felt in his latest work: choreography meets the techno and rave scene.
Together with eight young dancers aged between 18 and 25, Shechter explores the freedom, energy and intimacy that can be found in both club culture and contemporary dance: a collective experience for all the senses!
Simply put: «IN THE BRAIN» is the new piece by Shechter II. It celebrates its world premiere at Steps. Eight young dancers take to the stage. Shechter II is the junior company of Hofesh Shechter. The choreographer is famous for his energetic pieces. Electronic music plays an important role: techno and club culture meet dance.
