Performances in old people's homes
Gauthier Dance Mobil
If the audience can't go to the dance, then the dance goes to the audience. As the son of a Canadian neurologist and Alzheimer’s specialist, the dancer and choreographer Eric Gauthier has had lots of contact with people who are excluded from public and cultural life due to the fact that they live in old people's homes or institutions for dementia patients. He found that old people are still able to perceive, experience and enjoy. With his company, Gauthier Dance Mobil, he has prepared a repertoire of contemporary dance works which can be performed in the smallest of spaces. Within the framework of the Migros Culture Percentage Dance Festival Steps, the company is touring old people's homes in the German-speaking regions of Switzerland, bringing the world of dance to a new, experienced audience in halls and dining rooms.
Performances are between 18 and 20 April in Baden, Winterthur and Zurich
