Dear audience

The world dances on, and the women take off… Femininity in choreography was my personal guideline in the selection of the companies in the thirteenth edition of the Migros Culture Percentage Dance Festival Steps. 13 is a magical number, and this edition of the festival looks at the subjects of luck and being in love.

I would like to share with you that I was lucky enough to win two ladies for the festival who, as muses, have set the standards in the dance world. Both Sylvie Guillem and Sabine Kupferberg have inspired important creators and also influenced their careers significantly thanks to their incredible talents and fantastic stage presence.

In this festival edition, further intrigues are examined. Or the question: is a doll a symbol of perfection and beauty?; additionally, the life story of a hunter's daughter, the connection between mathematics and emotionality, the concerns of young people and children, and also a spring sacrificial offering.

Breathtaking virtuosity staged to perfection can be seen: from an artistic director who already worked with David Bowie and Frank Zappa in the 1980s. But spirituality is also a universal theme which cannot be left out.
